Can any Pol Sci majors help me? I'm planning on an International Relations major and am looking to sign up for either PS1 or PS2 this first semester. I've been told that PS2 and Econ1 (also planning a minor in env. econ) go well together, so I may do those 2nd semester. But just to make sure, is there any preferred sequence to the Pol Sci pre-requisites? Is there an easier order to take them in? Is PS1 a good one to start the PS series?

There's really no ideal path for completing prerequisite courses, so I would just take them in a semester where the professor is better. For example, I hear the PS1 professor for this semester is really good, so you might want to try doing that. The point I'm really trying to make here is that you should base your class decisions not on whether or not there is an ideal time to take the prerequisites, but rather whether or not the professor is good and the timing fits in with your other classes.

Just get a PS3... jk.

how much work/how difficult is Poli Sci 2? I am also thinking about taking PS 2 and econ 1 too.

For PoliSci, you have to (it's recommended by the department) to take any two of 1, 2, 4, or 5 with one of them being in your specialization. I think IR was PS4 but it may be 5. Check the catalog (schedule.berkeley.edu) if the class you want is going to be in the semester you want it because apparently some classes like the Intro to IR (PS4?) won't be available Spring 09 according to this department e-mail I got from PS.
