PSAT '09 Form W Thread

for the question where u had to sub in a word for “literally” on the writing section

whats the answer

i put all 3 as well ^^

CR: -6 to -4 errors: 65
M: 0 errors: 80
W: -2 to -4 errors: 70

@mabsjenbu so to speak.

it is “so to speak”

why was it “so to speak”?

it definitely wasn’t literal. so to speak implies a non-literal meaning?

I said it was “so to speak” which directly refuted literally because literally made no sense in that context.

You cannot literally put some information into you head. So it has to be so to speak, when you are essentially referring to it in the sense of an analogy (the passage itself actually uses the term analogy).

what about the That…CAME…

Was came correct? or was it NE?

Wow i did so bad on this test. Prolly like low 200’s.

Came was correct

when we receive the scores in December, are we also going to receive a Q&A?

Crap. I think I missed 2 on the math section…

Can anyone try to predict my score (maybe a range of scores)… I’m a sophomore and I think I did moderately well.

CR: -3 to -6
M: -2 to -4
W: -2 to -4

hai guys.
for the scarves and hats Q did you guys get 3/2 or 2/3?
my entire 11th grade class is torn between these two answers.

it was 3 hats for 2 scarves.
3h = 2s
s = 1.5h

try this link for last year’s scores and curves…
Higher Education Professionals | College Board;

i got 3/2.

oh okay.
and also:
what was the xyz problem?
was it all of the above?

Thought the test wasn’t bad but based on what I need for National Merit in my state (NJ), it was HELL.

One wrong from math and writing can severely drop your score.
