Was the half-circle math question 8pi?

was it a.?

Are we allowed to talk? Really? Since some people I know are taking tests tomorrow! and not on Saturday… Perhaps they are writing the same test as today’s??

Form W = Form Wednesday I’m pretty sure…

I thought the first 2 sections were harder (or maybe b/c I panicked). I feel like an idiot for taking too many random guesses for Math.

whoooops never mind

Does anyone want to use a chatroom to discuss today’s PSAT?

PM me for the link if you’re interested, I don’t think I’m allowed to post it up here…

I know most of those, but i dont want to get in trouble and talk. I dont think we are ever supost to talk becasue other people can still take the practice.

I had 728 for the math one with the 7s… then I switched it to 736. I see your reasoning, and think its correct, but where is mine wrong? There are 19 integers with 7s in them between 100-199, 200-299, 300-399, 400-499, 500-599, 600-699, 800-899, and 900-999 so that’s 19 x 8 = 152; there are 10 sevens between 1-99 and 100 sevens between 700-800 for a total of 152 + 10 + 100 = 262 So 998 - 262 = 736.

Also what was the answer for the one that was like 2f(of something) - f(of something)? I think I got 5…

kindness. I saw the EXACT word in the passage.

^ for that one, I think I got 5 too. It was 2(6) - 7 = 5.

That was easy, I was surprised it was towards the end of the section.

And yes, I put kindness, because giving someone a drink is more kind than polite considering you’re the employer.

kindness, and I think for the 2f( ) - f( ) it was 7

wait t=4 for what/

ya 8 pi

did anyone get 1/8 as an answer??

^ Did you plug in the f(x) value or the x value?

there are 19 numbers that contain 7 in 1-100:

7,17,27,37,47,57,67,70,71,72,73,74,75,76,77,78,79,87,97

thus, 100+9 times 19,
then, 1000 minus that and then minus 1 since it is not including 1000, thus 728

@ bassir. the answer was 7. 2f(some #)-f(some #)=12-5=7

for the CR question about the native americans I put tedious/feckless. =

I looked in the table and looked at the left column according to the x values in the question, and then plugged in the one in the f(x) column.

Yeah, it was either 5 or 7, I can’t remember. But that’s how I did it.

It’s not tedious, because… although the early settlers though the Natives were feckless, the English woman that studied them didn’t find them tedious—that’s no different from feckless.

The answer had to be opposites. First box positive, second negative.

what was the one with the circle that was like, “the sum of the unshaded areas equals the average of the sum of the shaded” or something like that? i don’t remember the wording

IF anyone’s interested in the chatroom, a few of us are there, so PM me if you want the link.

wow! I can’t believe I forgot all about 70-79! Yeah the answer is 728… which means I definitely missed at least one math :(

it was halcyon/onerous, i’m pretty sure.
calm, serene vs. burdensome.
