PSAT Critical Reading Approach

Hey, guys!! I just wanted to know how you guys will "attack" the passage-based questions on the PSAT tomorrow. My method is very, very unstable. It works really well sometimes, but other times, I just can't grasp the gist of the passage. T-T. Does anyone have an efficient method of doing the reading questions? Please tell me!!

Btw, my method is to read through the passage once, underline all the key phrases, and then attack the questions. Sometimes, I just lose track and get lost in the passage. T-T.

Good luck to everyone tomorrow!

look at the q’s 1st. underline specific words/line #'s in questions, then read. that way, you can quickly skim over sections that aren’t in questions and pay more attention to those that are, especially in the long passages.

Oh, okay. Thanks! Are there any more other approaches? Btw, I don’t have trouble with the short passages. I usually get one wrong or all of them right. The long passages are the ones that kill me. T-T.

There are links to good advice in the stickied thread.

AAA is right. Focus on line numbers. Skim the areas not underlined or those within +/- para etc.
