To the guy/gal who posted about Missouri:
I thought they didn’t release the official score cutoffs for Semi-Finalists..
Unless, like we do here, your principal looked at the scores (i.e. a 213 that made it and a 212 that did not).

You are correct Dtran09 in that they do not release the official score cutoffs for Semi-Finalists. I would doubt that MO would increase 2 points so don’t give up yet.

Likewise what is the bases of the OK report being at 208 from BoomerSooner? Heresay? With no provided details I think ParentofIvy has the right idea as the list should develop from those reporting who have received their packet and know they made the cutoff this year.

@dtran09: When my principal was congratulating us for having more semifinalists as a class than any of our school’s senior classes for the last 15 years, he noted that it was “especially impressive, because the score cutoff increased by two points. As a matter of fact, there were a few other students who would have made it last year but just missed it this year.”

He seemed pretty sure of it at the time. If they don’t tell school administrators directly, he probably figured it out by looking at the scores.

Again, that’s just what I heard. It could be wrong.

Ugh, I got 213 in Illinois. I didn’t get anything in the mail either…damn. My friend got 215 (same school) also and he got semi-finalist too. I’m guessing 215 is the actual cutoff then.

If you’re talking Ivy League, commended status, and even semifinalist, is indeed very common. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t mention it if you want to - but be aware that many many applicants applying will have that credential

BTW - Any more info on Northeast? Come on, at least one person should have heard (or maybe schools here are more closefisted with this info)
