I agree @ThinkOn: I can sort of see the point with counselors, but the idea that third parties may be able to access the scores before the students themselves is ridiculous. Letting the counselors see the scores can be defended on the grounds of letting them have a chance to read and digest the scores before an onslaught of parental calls begin about the meaning of the scores, whether their kid is going’s to make the cutoff, etc.

Yes, I got the email from TASP
@ThinkOn totally agree. It’s extremely frustrating. Most kids in my school can see their scores on Naviance but my counselor didn’t even upload mine. Collegeboard is releasing scores to external parties but not to students. It doesn’t make sense.

SI 225 / Score 1500
No email from Telluride/TASP.
@Alumon thanks for sharing. This gives me hope that not everyone with good score got email from TASP
Late coming to the conversation and haven’t read through all these comments but for those worried about lack of a TASP e-mail right now: don’t be. My D17 was a National Merit finalist in 2017 and she got exactly ZERO e-mails concerning TASP in the time leading up to her score report. This was two years ago. College Board does not release scores to third parties, and it’s not even clear whether they release names connected to some “threshhold” percentile at this early stage (the Student Seach Opt-in). TASP is able to get names from a variety of other sources, in addition to College Board. Also, if you took the PSAT as a sophomore and did well, you will probably be on their list even if you tanked the NMSQT.
Hopefully all will be known in 24 hours but if this message can buy a few hours of peace for someone, it was worth the minute or so of tapping on the keyboard
Someone should out College Board on that issue - why are they releasing scores to third parties when the students and parents haven’t even seen the scores. That seems unethical.
@JBStillFlying Thanks for your input. This TASP invitation thing does cause lots of anxieties among my friends. I agree with @sunnyschool , it is unethical for CB to release scores to third parties before scores are released to students and parents. Since some people were able to get their scores 10 days ago, and scores are available to consolers a week ago, why don’t they just make the score available to all students? are they holding our scores, so CB can sell them for a better price?
@JBStillFlying - still definitely helps calming nerves a bit. Thanks for taking the time.
Chucko- My junior got a 1510 and a 226 SI, but no email from Telluride. So don’t worry.
Thanks @brentwoodmom
I second what @JBStillFlying says. My D is a 2018 NMSF (221 SI in PA) and likely finalist and I have no idea if she received a Telluride email. She says it doesn’t sound familiar. Good luck to everyone!
I completely concur with posters about not worrying about Telluride email. My son was NMF last year and I have no idea what kind of email messages he received. Mostly, he found the overwhelming emails in general from colleges to be a chore. Those who are waiting, try to be patient, because qualifying to be NMF is a long process that will continue through next spring. Focus on your current classes and think about the much needed down time coming up during winter break.
If you are NMSF, then there is another application process to become NMF in the fall of 2018: essay, qualifying SAT score, transcript, and a recommendation form the GC. The last part I don’t know recall exactly. For those student who already took the SAT and received a high score, you don’t have to take it again. For those students who took ACT and are NMSF, then they will have to take the SAT (w/o eassy) by early fall 2018. My son only took the ACT as a junior; when he became NMSF, he took the SAT in September of senior year. Since it just had to be a qualifying score, it doesn’t have to be tippy top, he took it cold and did fine. I recall school transcript being important because having mostly A’s and B’s was necessary. Having a couple of C’s were ok, but I think, not D’s.
Good luck to all of you!
@cag60093 Are you sure the SAT is without the essay for qualifying SAT score?
Yes.
Yes, essay component is not required.
scores come out tomorrow, right?
Yes, they come out tomorrow. Good luck to everyone who doesn’t have the results yet.
@LvMyKids2 Sunday night on Twitter, The College Board tweeted, “Rest up! #PSAT/NMSQT scores will be released tomorrow morning, NOT at midnight.”
According to the website, they are released over the next three days depending on region of the country. You might check the map, west is first.
