In the math MC,
was the answer to the square root problem (3 less than the square root of x is 8, what is x-1) 120?

andreaaaaaa,

Yes, there was an error in the idiom. It should have been "inspired by", not "inspired from"

^ Why not? Many reporters are indifferent/impartial in their articles, yet still frequently write them.

The answer to the square root problem was 120.

talkin gabout the no errors thing.....
I felt sooo bad for the kid in front of me.......
He could just not spot the errors....
he was freaking out and you could tell.......
I was talkn to him later and he said he put no error for 95 percent of them.........
I felt bad

t can't be indifferent because if he was indifferent... he wouldn thave been writing about it

^
he was indifferent to the other guy's opinion/view

but for SAT PASSAGES they probally wont be indifferent

thats true, but it's still possible; just not very likely. i put indifferent though because it didn't seem like he cared at all about hte guy, and had a scarcastic remark at the end.

I think it was indifferent because the author responded by saying something about a walk being adventurous also or something like that.. which doesn't really show criticism, but rather humorous indifference.

"but for SAT PASSAGES they probally wont be indifferent"

Hmmm, I don't think you can really make that assumption...

anybody remember any other CR and writing questions? we've been debating this indifferent/critical thing for a long time now

So what do you guys think of the curve in writing?

This year's section seemed pretty easy

does anybody know about what the cut off will be for national merit semi-finalist this year for washington state?

yea writing seemed easy even though i kno i missed 2-3 already -_-

daneshk, no one knows until around fall......the 2005 cutoff just came out and it was 219.....the range for next year will probably be around 218-223.

for the math question where it aksed about c, d, e, f, and which was greater than which, was the answer E

math was by far the easiest section..

yes it was e

^agreed

I think I got "e>d>c>f", dunno which choice that was.
