The parenthetical phrase - emphasize that Dinesen's life is not easily distinguished from the myth

phoenix – she was regenerated after a disappointment and became a successful artist

Fourth paragraph is unique because - is critical of Dinesen's character

The comment implies that - Dinesen's behavior cannot be evaluated in absolute moral terms

which best contrasts Dineson in Kenya and in Denmark - An awe-inspiring figure versus a contradictory individual

CHAT ROOM: name=octpsat

yeah i got 14a

ill update that in about an hour or so if more people post answers.

are you sure that passage 2 would find the risks acceptable? is that what everyone else got?

i think the "all but" answer is not incontrovertable
IN SPITE of the yahoo definition of "all but",
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4764521.stm

google the phrase "all but" and you'll find that it doesn't mean "almost"
it means all BUT

haha, no minor, its compiled from this thread....

what was the question about 14a? were the choices 14a and -14a?

"What would passage 2 say about the risks – acceptable"

I think that one's under debate as well--many people here think it was "slight".

j bomb - it seems like the majority of people thought it was acceptable....the second closest was slight

acceptable is the right answer
the author did not mention the risks of plant mutations being a bad thing in any way because the risks were never proven or identified
plus, mutated plants have been used by 75% of nations and the author mentions nothing about risks actually occuring

jadore_isabella 14a was not an answer
-14a was the right answer

yeah, i think its acceptable, but i edited it and said it was split

for the "14a" answer I think there was only one answer with a 14 in it and also it was the only answer that wasn't a fraction so if you chose the answer with 14 you were probably correct

ok good :)

first time i can join a p-sat/sat thread im happy..
i bombed the test...and i sat in it for 5 1/2 hours w/ my jolly(NOT!) resource room teacher...hes annoying as hell oh and yes i have double time my teacher is soooooooooo slow at reading..i could have done it in 4 hours

Thanks for the answer compilation ^^ it helped alot!

Anyone remember the first question to the African/author passage? It asked about how she saw the biography and the letters or something like that. I don't remember...

for the oen comparing teh biography and the letters, were they dissimilarl or equal?

Ah, yes, was that "revealingly dissimilar" or "virtually identical"?

equalally enigmatic is what i put
the sentence before that had the word "redundant" was really confusing in wording
it was like "i do not hope that it was not redundant. it was not."
