andreaaaaaa thanx for the compilations they're really helpful

optimus, the one about women and discrimination:

i wasnt sure whether or not to assume that the sentence you were adding was to be the CONCLUDING, summative sentence or just something that continued on the tangent of the second paragraph.

even if it was supposed to continue the second paragraph's idea, it didn't seem to make sense. the 2nd paragraph was about how women can leave their workplace/change it, etc. and this just said that women need to stay there and just make it better for others. so im not sure...

Was there a sentence completion with "conspiratorial" in it?

yeah. conspirational was the answer

Yes, I recall choosing that option.
The vehemence and ferocity one was also correct.

^^ do you remember the other word in that sentence?

i remember conspiratorial, but i'm not sure if i put that

"even if it was supposed to continue the second paragraph's idea, it didn't seem to make sense. the 2nd paragraph was about how women can leave their workplace/change it, etc. and this just said that women need to stay there and just make it better for others. so im not sure..."

However, neither did the "just as capable" option: the author never asserts that women are just as capable as men--he/she only discusses the "glass ceiling."

well, as someone else pointed out, the intro to the thing said "a COMPLETE essay" so it needed a conclusion.

and i think the author was in favor of women having equal work rights. so i just went with that
idk

So what did you choose?

Fruitcake: I do not remember.
Do any of you remember the answer to the "photographs" and "tease" question in the W section?
I picked the choice with the colon.

ok can someone show how the k-x=0
still very lost on that

for the tease one i think i put ",while"

I think it was conspiratorial... innocuous

Just plug in numbers

KX^a = X^(a+1)

If X = 2, and a = 3

K2^3 = 2^4
k(8)=16
K has to equal 2

K is 2
X is 2

k-x= 0

Fruitcake: innocuous

join "octpsat" on AIM

kx^a=x^a+1
Let's say you plug in 2 for x and a and you get 4x=8, therefore x=2 and 2-2=0
Try any combination of x and a and k will always come out to the same as x.

question on rst cube...i am pretty confident i am wrong after reading multiple explanations for square root, but i came up with cubed root of rst...all of the side values would have been in square centimeters, some part of me decided that multiplying 3 sets of sqaure centimeters resulted in cm^6 then to get it to cm^3 you take cubed root. but in retrospect, that was a really lame error.

women one was staying in inhospitable area for benefit of others?

3.5 for area?

something about provoked in early sentence completion?

"Tease" should be followed by a colon. Also, for the k-x problem,

k* x^a= x^(a+1)= x^(a) * x
k=x, therefore k-x=0

kx^a = x^a+1

x=2, a=3

k * 2^3 = 2^4

8k = 16

k = 2

x-k= 0

thx..

hmm i better have put conspiratorial...i remember narrowing it down to that and something else..
