PSAT, SAT, and SAT Subject Test Help

I am a rising junior and I am feeling good about most aspects/future aspects of my college admission process. One thing that I am nervous about is standardized testing. For the sake of simplicity, I will leave AP and ACT testing out of this discussion.

I took the PSAT in October of my Sophomore year without having prepared at all. I got an aggregate score of 180 with the following breakdown: Math-64, Reading-62, Writing-54.

I knew I could do better than this so I purchased a PSAT prep book. I read the writing section of the book and retook the test and scored 191.

Again, I feel I have a better score in me than that. I want to be able to not only prepare myself for my final PSAT opportunity in October but also prepare myself for the SAT that I will take in not too long of a time.

I really feel like I should be able to break 220 on the PSAT and hopefully take a shot at 2300 on the SAT with the class load and GPA I have. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to do better on the SAT/PSAT. I know there are classes and I will take that for the SAT, but any other suggestions?

P.S. If anyone wants to explain an SAT Subject Test, that would be greatly appreciated.

All I can tell you is: practice!!!

I recommend the McGraw Hills SAT. book as well.
After you’re done correcting the practice tests, look over any questions you missed.
As for critical reading, remember to bak up your answer choice with evidence from the passage! Answers on the passage reading portions of CR can ALWAYS be found in the passage itself.
And memorize a lot of vocab to boost your CR score.

SAT Subject Tests, or SAT IIs, are exams that pertain to specific subjects, like US history or Chem. the max.score is 800

Thank you very much!
