What is the score for National Merit Scholarships?

probably.. I think last year's was around 2300?

or maybe a little lower, my friend is finalist and i think her score was like around 23_ _ somehting

2300!!! That is way too high...(unless you are at a NE boarding school, I guess...)

It varies from state to state....

~202 is the cutoff for Commended status. Semifinalist cutoffs vary by state from below 200 all the way up to 222. There will be a total of 16000 semifinalists (people who score in the top 1% of their states), from which 15000 finalists are selected. About 9500 of these finalists will receive monetary awards, either the National Merit Scholarship (about 8500-9000 finalists) or corporate scholarships.
