PSAT scores

Well i got my psat scores which I did horrible at.

Overall- 139

Break Down-

Writing skills- 78th percentile
Reading- 58th percentile
Math- 39th percentile

Jesus christ bro that must have been a NASTY hangover

what’s the point of this thread?

i kinda dgaf’d it, and i guess i pulled out a 185.

Here’s the gist: PSATs matter if you did well, but don’t if you didn’t. So, you didn’t lose anything by bombing it.

Uh…wow. Did you just bubble random letters? Why would you post this?

Jeez guys. Stop with the bashing. Just because he’s on College Confidential, doesn’t mean he will automatically score 200+.
@Jman, there’s always the SATs. Good luck studying.

^ I know, but my freshman PSAT score was higher than that if you only used the score from 2 sections.

So was mine, but you must understand the disparities in the abilities of different individuals. Perhaps, Jman is just the study-hard type. I’m sure if hes at least of average intelligence and does everything he can do to prepare, he will be able to raise his SAT scores considerably.
P.s. Isn’t it weird how in almost all cases in which a poster’s gender is unknown, we assume he/she to be a boy? Pretty sexist if you ask me. Just noticed that right now.

I think it’s safe to assume that anyone who chooses to put “man” in their name is male.

^lololol

Anyway, uh, maybe take the ACT rather than the SAT?

Just understand that the SAT is such an easy test (not necessarily in the sense that you should have the natural ability to perfect it as a freshman, although to be honest, many, ok a few, do) that anybody could score at least a 2300 if they actually cared enough to practice (some people may have to practice more than others but it’s not impossible.)

Getting 39th percentile in math just means that you’re basically completely non-exposed to any time of math fundamentals at all. If you get a review book I think by learning a few basic facts anybody should be able to get an 800 on the math section; there aren’t any non-trivial questions on the SAT. By non-trivial I mean there are no questions that are unique to the test.

And for the reading section, sorry to say, you might have to study your ass off to go up that many percentiles, but don’t worry because, since this is just the psat, you have a lot of time to study.

Finally I think taking the SAT is 50% focus. This is my biggest problem, I’ve been capable of perfecting the math section since 7th grade but last year I made some trivial mistake and got a question wrong.

haha. i hate when i miss the obvious

Eh it was a whatever test, i mainly took it because i knew that i would be able to miss 2 classes. To me my score was no biggie because I will ensure that these scores never resurface. I guess I should apologize for not being the “brainiac” that every seems to act around here but whatevs.

I think you need to learn that some people do worse than others
