^ yeah. I didn't even know what I mean, but I was stuck between that and some other words, and brainchild seemed more probably for some reason. lol

Hey guys, can someone help me out for a math question I saw on the PSAT? (wednesday 17 october)

x is a positive integer whose square root is smaller than x/2. Give a possible value of x. (this is a grid in question)

Now, here comes the dilemma, I'm not sure if they said SQUARE or SQUARE ROOT. If it was square root, I would have got right. If they said square, they will rob me of that so dearly perfect math score I wanted.

Do you remember which term they used?

Thanks.

it was when
x^2<x/2
I put 1/4 as my answer, but there's more.

Oh, that sucks. 4 pts off on the math section really hurts!!

They said the square of x = x^2.. i'm pretty sure
but yeah, that one kind of confused me with the wording too.

"O God! O God! that it were possible
To undo things done; to call back yesterday!
That Time could turn up his swift sandy glass,
To untell the days, and redeem these hours"

-Thomas Heywood.

If only... If only... I could "untell" that dreaded October 17th... Too bad Thomas Heywood words can only be vain and tragic :(

I have some questions:

CR
Did you guys get Draconian for the last sc of the first cr section?
Also the one about Arabella in the 2nd section about the royalty girl or something, what did you guys put for the comparison/contrast of the two passages where one of the choices was like "vanity vs. bad decision or something"

WR
The ISE about the "wrote of" or whatever where it has like "NAME,who blah blah blah, he wrote of..." as an answer choice, which one was right?
Improving Paragraphs
the first one had two choices like
"Consider shy people" and "For example, something about shy people" which one was the correct one?

Thanks guys, GL

Cr:
Draconian: yes.
I put like desperation vs. bad decision..idk something like that.

WR.
Consider Shy People. that's what I put.
I think wrote of was wrong?? i'm not sure which on you are talking about.

I put the same for the CR questions.

dangit i put "For example, something.." because I thought consider shy people didn't...well...i just thought it was wrong...dangit....

^ It would seem wrong, but I think in the essay he mentioned another concise sentence that had the same structure, so that's why i chose it, but I may be wrong. I'm not a writing guru.

It seems like there hasn't been a definitive answer for the "its" "being passed" sentence error question...I put being passed only because I thought it should be passage, but that "being passed" can definitely replace "passage". The main question here would be is it No Error, or Its - not relating to subject?

Another writing question, an improving sentence one, was like "For every opinion on an issue, there is an opposite opinion that goes against it" I put the answer choice that was "there is an opposite opinion". Is that correct? I assumed that opposite and against were redundant so it would improve concision...

And on CR - the Arbella question I put desperation v. lack of prudence, not the vanity v. bad decision one, because the first passage never mentions vanity.

For the "its being passed" question, I put no error because although the "being passed" is usually wrong, it was used as a gerund in this case. I think...

Echelon32: yeah, that's what I put for CR as well.

The second writing question..i think i put against it..i forgot though. =[

Can anyone elaborate on the writing "wrote of" question, I don't remember it?

Also on Writing, improving paragraphs, did you put a sentence like "People don't get to know Roger's warm personality because he's shy" on what should be added to one of the paragraphs?

for the comparing the 2 passages on arabella, did you guys get desperation vs. lack of prudence for one of your answers? some other ppl told me they put vanity or something..

& how many no error did you get for the error id's? i only got 1 but then other ppl told me they got 2 or 3

ya i put despair vs. lack of prudence.

i got 2 no errors...

On the identifying sentence error question that was something like:

"Ribbon-sleeved shirts, now popular in the southwest, were imported by settlers...something something something",

I thought imported was a diction error and should be changed to introduced. Now I think the answer is no error. Why do some things seem so right during the test but afterward the right answer is so obvious? What did you all get for this question?

I don't think imported was wrong..but i forgot what I put.
I got 3 no errors. =/
and I got a lot of D's like in a row.. weird. Like two D's in a row..then another answer choice and then another D.

^ me too...i got ddcd
u arent supposed to get 4 same letters in a row right? cuz this smart guy told me he got that...

Yeah.. that's what I had at first DDDD.. but then I changed one of them. lol
