has anyone seen a serious jump from their sophomore year psat score to their junior year score? did you prep a lot for it?
I got a 191 soph and I am hoping to be a semi-finalist this year. is that possible? I did do some prep over the summer, but have stopped once school started.
would love to hear your numbers and strategies.
thanks

i went from a 203 in soph to a 227 in junior. It can happen. Korean summer SAT day camps forced it to work, for less money. Bah.

I jumped 24 points (and got nmsf standing) as well.

I didn't study once.

thanks... bump

BTW, do you guys just walk into your school's guidance office and ask to sign up?

I'm worried, 'cause my school has it on the calendar, but they haven't made any announcements about it...

(my school automatically signs us up- it's part of the fees).

I just went to my GC and signed up. They also sent home a letter about the test asking for a check etc. Our deadline is Oct. 12.

Won't hurt to ask your school counselors :P

I just did that SAT Question of the Day thing. Seems to work well for some of my friends. Plus it's free!

oh boy, now I wish I did that, but those emails are piled inside my inbox with the oldest being last year's. oops.
Thanks. Maybe I'll actually do some of those now that I know they actually might help. :)

anyone else?

I didn't really study and my score jumped a lot.

Some people studied a ton and their scores didn't really change.

I guess it all depends on how you do on that one test.

I'd recommend just doing whatever feels right. If you feel prepared, then that's the best you can do.

btw, nice name!
