PSAT Increase from Soph to Junior Years

I'm a sophomore right now, and I got a 207 on my PSAT (68 CR, 72 Math, 67 Writing). What do you think I can expect next year?

It should be noted that...
1) My proctor wasn't good and stopped us short a few minutes on CR. I think I could've at least raised that 30 points meaning at least a 210 overall.
2) The only studying I did for the test was the practice test they gave me when I registered. I did take the SAT in 7th and 8th grade for CTY, however, so I had some testing experience.

I thank you in advance for your insight.

Get a lot of practice!

I went from a 200 to a 231. Interestingly (and unfortunately), my math score went from being my best by far in sophomore year to my worst on my SAT. Study all three sections!

I got a 197 sophomore year & a 219 junior year.

HighlandDaughter got the same as you as a soph and got 237 as a junior. Get Rocket Review, do a few practice tests from the Blue Book.

S1 went from 227 to 230. Didn't study. His best section change from Math to Writing, and on the SAT it was CR twice.
S2 went from 183 to 206. Studied a bit in math where he went up 9.

Son went from 178 to 186. All the gain was in math (56 --> 62), no change in the others.

He studied like mad. At least 4 full-length CB practice tests. It was kinda disheartening. All his practices had him over 200, with CR 70+. Oh well. Now he's focusing on SAT.

If you asked my D, she'd tell you not to study! Hers went down by 3 points, though math - her weakest area the first time - went up from 65 to 72. Fortunately she did much better on the SAT when she took it in January.

Don't bother studying, it's just the PSAT. Mine went from a 177 to a 193. Neither is great, and I was disappointed with both scores, but they make no difference in the scheme of things.

Freshman year I got an 181 (61/60/60 on CR/Math/Writing), and moved that to a 197 soph (71/62/64 CR/M/W). Then this year I got a 214 (77/64/73). My study plan was to not pull an all-nighter the day before the test. The best plan is to see how you do on the PSAT as a junior and then think about tutoring after you get the score back.

10/11/real was 188/210/2200 (on 1/24)

Did one practice test between the 210 and 2200...and you just get smarter from 10th to 11th grade so I'd definetly expect you to be able to bump it up considerably

like a 180 Sophomore to a 200 junior, but CR has always been a strong point ,70 both times, which I hear is the hardest to improve on usually. and I just went to school more and stuff and my math went up from like 50 to 60 and my cr went up some points also a lil over 70.

I think it was 50 math 64 writing 69 reading soph. and 62 math 64 writing 72 reading junior

I went from a 166 to a 199, and I didn't really do much more than take 1-2 SAT tests and analyze them.

S went from 170 to 200. We got him a PSAT book and he focused almost entirely on vocab which seemed to have been his weakest spot as I recall. We made him some flash cards that he would take with him to work (summer counselor at a school) ands he would flip them on breaks and coming home. I think there were 250. He also read more books, but mostly best sellers not anything too esoteric or deep. LOL.

Vocab is definitely one of my weakest points. I'll try flashcards, thank you.

I would just focus on the SAT, because that's what actually matters.

I'm a sophomore. I got a 188 on my PSAT and then just a few months later, I got a 2070 on my SAT. So it'll definitely improve :) Especially on writing! I do not understand how people can get low scores on writing. You just have to know what you're looking for and then have your essay practically prewritten= 800 for me :)

I know the PSAT isn't all that important, I merely asked out of curiosity.

If you want to be in the running for merit or achievement, it's important.

197 to 228.
71->80 CR
61->68 M
65->80 W

I seriously think I got smarter right before I took it, when I took the practice test a few days before, everything just started to click.

Got a 216 soph, 222 junior.
I just took an SAT practice test and get a 2130 (I guess- I got 151 right and 19 wrong)

163 Frosh->188 Sophomore->204 Junior
