<p>i took the 2007 psat in michigan (last fall) and I was wondering when do we find out whether or not we're commended etc etc or not? i got a 202 and i do not know if this is a high enough score, but it was in the 97th percentile.</p>

76-math
65-writing</p>

<p>In september...and 202 probably isn't enough to become a semifinalist although it all depends on your state. The cutoffs really fluctuate; i think it is something like 220 in california while in another state it may only be 200</p>

<p>yeah I was hoping for commended because semi finalist here in MI last year was about 210 so I knew right of the bat my best luck was to get commended. hope 202 is good enough</p>

<p>Semifinalists are notified in late August/early September. Commendeds are notified in late September/early October. If you received a letter in May (and from the posts here, it looks like everyone with at least a 200 did), then you are at least commended.</p>

<p>Son last year was 97th percentile and got commended. He didn't hear anything about getting the award until the school counselor told him in late October. I don't remember where I heard it but I did learn last year that for several years now the commended cutoff has been 97%.</p>
