Psat?

How important is the PSAT when you take it as a sophomore? I took it Yesterday, and think I got anywhere from like 185-205.

It is a good starting point for studying for the PSAT for next year, if you think you have a shot at National Merit status. The qualifying score depends on your state. It’s also a good starting point for studying for the SAT. You are in a very good position to improve and have SAT scores that will allow you to get into some fine schools.

As for the importance of this test, now? Nada. Zip. Just practice.

Thanks, I feel alot better. My parents and cousins are all college crazy. (If I get into a good school, then they get into a good school kinda thing).

Don’t worry about it too much yet. I got a 203 on the PSAT when I was a sophomore last year and now I got a 2360 on the SAT with a similar score on the PSAT as a junior. You can just start practicing in summer and score well on the SAT/PSAT in junior year. (That’s what I did for 2-3 months sporadically.)
