@Doubed3266 GPA is a bit low but SAT is very good. Should have a decent chance considering he did DUS/summer
@Doubed3266 My friend got in UP with a 3.2 GPA and a 1450/1600 SAT so I think your son has a pretty good chance of getting in
Thanks for the info, he loves PSU/State College and it’s his first choice so hoping his SAT score gets him in.
My daughter received an email followed by a package a few days later. In her case, the decision was made very quickly, she got the acceptance email one week after she applied. She applied for College of Communications.
@Jess17 What where here stats like?
@hasannadeem47 GPA 4.21/4.5, old SAT 2340
@Jess17 What do they teach in communications? Like how to use a phone book or something? Always was wondering about that major.
FYI: The College of Communications at PSU offers several different majors including Journalism, Advertising/Public Relations (which requires at least a 3.3 GPA), Film and Media Studies. Not exactly learning how to use the phone book!
Has anybody heard this week? Wondering if I should have applied general instead of Eberly… Great GPA and EC’s but only average ACT.
I have a feeling most decisions will be later on for the most part. Reading last year’s decisions, many did not come out until mid-to-late January because of the huge amount of applicants. Hopefully I’m wrong, though, as I’m in your shoes and am worried that I should have applied DUS!
The PSU Admissions page on Facebook said that applications will be updated December 8th, so we might see some decisions come out tomorrow. Regardless, I think most of us will be waiting until January. This “rolling” admissions process is so frustrating
It really is. Especially since some of us applied as early as September or October! The waiting is extremely nerve-wracking.
@hasannadeem47 where on their facebook page does it say that?
They made a post on Dec. 1st talking about the influx of SAT scores before the priority deadline and also mentioned that they would be updating MyPennState on Dec. 8th
That might just be referring specifically to SAT scores though
I just looked at it, and I believe that they are referencing updating your portal to reflect they received your SAT scores and transcripts. I don’t know for sure though.
Yeah I think that is just referencing the SAT scores unfortunately…I really do not have the patience to wait until January
I’ve been waiting for so long, applied the day after the application opened, everything was in by 9/15… getting nervous at this point! No one from my school has found out yet, but I just want to know if I got in! I didn’t think I’d have to wait this long, as I’m in-state, top of my class, etc. with a sibling who is at PSU, so I’m seriously stressing. Hope we all find out sooner rather than later
Hi everyone, I was just in contact with an admissions counselor regarding a possible change in my major, and she was kind enough to let me know that they are going to be releasing a lot of decisions in December, and that many should expect to hear back by December 23rd when their office goes on break. So hopefully, the wait might be shorter than we thought!
