@chuckiem I checked my portal and there was a note with a big red button at the bottom that said “accept your offer of admission” or something to that effect.
@jlhpsu They said I could if I would like, but the counselor I spoke to advised me against it as she felt I fell within a good range for my major . Overall, you can change your major, but unless you are absolutely sure about switching or you feel you have no chance in that major, you should wait out the initial application review. If not offered admission, then she said they would be able to reevaluate for another major and the second decision would only take several days. Changing your major will not delay your decision, either.
@computerguy999 Congratulations on the acceptance! If you don’t mind me asking, what was your college of acceptance to/ SAT Scores/ things of that nature?
@hunterpsu You’re right, your GPA is really going to hurt you. Penn State Engineering is highly selective. You SAT score seems to be a little better than average for Penn State, but your GPA is much lower than average. Plus, that’s the whole student body. The engineering students are going to have both higher test scores and a higher GPA overall. Don’t veer away from the idea of going to a satellite school for a year or two and then transferring to UP.
I am not an admissions counselor, but I just did some research on it to answer your question and was admitted myself so I have an idea about what it takes.
