Thanks, you too to your family!
@NathanShelton10 @sarahmarie13 @lastone03 Thank you all! Wishing you all good luck!
@onthesearch814 My son did not apply for architecture but we had two friends whose kids applied to the school last year. From what they told me it is a very selective program and the one with extremely high stats was admitted around this time last year (which they had heard was unusual for the program) while the other did not hear until late January and was not admitted (he had very good stats but not quite high enough apparently - I don’t recall what they were).
When should you get your acceptance if the portal shows that your application is “under review”??
My D has applied Pre-Med and I dont know whether PSU has published any results related to Pre-Med.
Anyone else having trouble with the portal today?
@PSUDawn Yes. Up and down.
@PSUDawn… Yes, I am unable to login into Portal today, tried over 5 times, same result
looks like portal is down. Have been trying since morning.
I have been able to log in just fine.
It seems to be like that every morning when I try to logon. Usually up and running by late morning.
@JeBronLames it depends for everyone, it could be a few days, weeks, or a month and a half. It just means that they received all of your stuff necessary to look at your application

@Cookies510 Thank you-- it’s good to hear some real info about it, though not the best news. We don’t understand how the arts majors are so competitive. We were told there were only 20 people in the major last year. And that wasn’t because they only WANTED 20. that’s all that chose that major they said. They are even thinking of changing the name of the major so it sounds more like what it is, and what other schools call it (at PSU it’s IDS to be exact). I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Though PSU is her top choice, (and she comes from 2 alumni parents), UConn has a really great program in her major, so there’s always a backup at another good school, we hope. Thanks again!
@onthesearch814 what does IDS stand for? thx

So being one of the first ones to apply from my school and still not hearing I’m beginning to stress a bit. I figured I’d turn to here to ask a question or two to try to calm my nerves. What is the difference between the received status for the SRAR and completed. Mine still says received so I just wanted to confirm that just means they haven’t even looked at my application due to the modified rolling nature of their admissions. Thank you to all who answer, it’s just frustrating me to the point where I am beginning to doubt my chances because of so many people from my school already hearing back that have lower stats than I do.
@STEMlover44 Yep, mine didn’t change to under review until the SRAR changed to completed
for the umpty-billionth time, everyone who applies by the preferred deadline will hear by January 30. They are done very roughly by college, in fits and starts, usually with very high stats by Christmas but not always. There are something like 35K applications, they aren’t sorted by your high school, and when you are accepted will not be tatoo’d on your forehead. It has never made sense, it will never make sense – from the outside, but this is how they do it and somehow everyone survives.
Also, if you put summer session, get offered summer session, don’t come back here saying but now you don’t want to go. Honestly.
And this is intended to be an ACCEPTED thread. Perhaps we need a “angst, dread, and waiting” thread until January. Breathe! Breathe!
