PSU Social Life

Hey guys,

So i am from Dubai, I want to attend PSU and am heavily contemplating it..

However, I want to ask the PSU students about the party tag that is attached to this school.

I am Muslim and do not drink at all, Dont get me wrong I like to attend parties and stuff but within a limit..

Secondly, again i know its a dumb qt but are students here serious?, because the ppl that go here from Dubai are all ppl that sorta have chosen PSU for the wrong reasons(Party School).I am not a studious person, but would like to maintain a pretty decent average..

Any Advice comments is welcome, hopefully what u will say will help me make my decision..

PS; I got admitted at Smeal....

I actually noticed the same thing–people seem to only want to go here because of the party reputation. It really is kind of sad. I also do not intend to drink/party too much and I am going to Penn State. There are definitely going to be those people that aren’t going to take the school aspect seriously, but most people, I think, care at least a little bit about their grades as they are paying thousands of dollars to go there. I’m in Smeal too, btw.

While I am sure that the party reputation does attract some people - not everyone chooses PSU for that reason.

Is there a special living option for business students?

yes there is, thankfully. I definitely don’t want to live in East.

ya lets hope what u said might be true…

but can some PSU current student confirm this please?

Hey internation. I’m Muslim too. Don’t worry about the whole party seen. There is plenty you can do without having to party, check this out: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/penn-state-university-park/650887-some-things-do-psu-non-party-animal-those-tired-being-one.html?highlight=late+night</a></p>

Hope it helps.
