PSU Website Problem

<p>My connection to the PSU website continues to be a problem. Somehow I wound up with two files - one in my nickname and one in my legal name. When I log in I can see my in/out box for e-mail - but when I check my application status - it tells me there is no data for me. I e-mailed them about the problem mid-November and they discovered the two file problem and combined the files. That was supposed to fix the problem. Last Friday it was still not finding me - so we called again and they reset my password - and the new password spun around in cyberspace and never arrived - thanks to spam filtering for an e-mail sent with a "no reply" address. Soooooo.... they resent the password to another address and I got it. But you guessed it - I can still see my e-mail but the "Check My Application Status" stills says they can't find me.</p>

<p>I'm afraid that if we call back again - I'll get that big red check for "Pain In the Butt" next to my name - and my application will go in the "No Way" pile when they review it.</p>

<p>We are sure my application materials are all in - they verified that - and said they have mailed high end acceptances and rejections from the early app group - and are now waiting to process the block of applications which are in the middle group and expect to start mailing these letters out by Christmas.</p>

<p>So here's where I need help. </p>

<p>Are there others in the forum who are still in the "we are reviewing your file" website application status? If so - when you start getting your acceptance letters - could you post so I know something should be happening and if I don't hear anything, I'll followup with PSU again at that point.</p>

<p>For those of you who have already received acceptances - did you get an e-mail as well? Was it sent to your ISP or to your inbox at PSU?</p>

<p>Sounds like a real problem.
The only message I received from them on line was that "a decision has been reached and you will receive it in the mail" That message was posted in "application status" on 11/11/05. Received the package on 11/17/05.</p>

<p>Have you tried e-mailing Admissions directly through main site rather than your account site?</p>

<p>I'm afraid to rock the boat anymore. It appears to be a technical problem with their system - rather than a problem in the admissions office. We all know how frustrating that can be when its your system and you're busy enough already without those kind of problems. So I feel like I need to just back off and wait a few weeks - and as long as the application materials are okay - and the notice comes in the mail rather than online - the only thing I can't "see" is when the next batch start turning from "we have your stuff" to " a decision has ben reached and you will receive it in the mail". So if the posters here clue me in when that starts happening - I'll be okay. :></p>
