Psych/Public health major pro/cons?

I plan to pursue a premed track in college and have had a really positive experience with psychology in high school. Next year, I plan to attend either Northeastern Univ or Boston Univ. I realize that the major is a pretty vague one that doesn’t have a clear career post-graduation but I was wondering if any of you guys have any experiences with the major/future careers. To be honest, the only real concern that I have with the major is the job prospects if med school falls through.

Likewise, how is the public health major both in college and post graduation?

Right now, I declared psychology for both schools but am fairly confident that I can change.

I was a psychology major in undergrad. When I was there, I considered several careers - market research, advertising, public relations, law school, and guidance counseling. I eventually settled on doing research, so I got a PhD after college and now I work as a user experience researcher in tech. I know lots of psychology majors who didn’t get graduate degrees who are gainfully employed in the fields I mentioned above and more.

For most jobs - especially coming from a well-reputed university - getting a job is more about your skills and the experiences you bring than the precise major.
