Would this be a useful major for a person looking into medical school, specifically an MD/phD combined program?

I want to go into the field of oncology, working both in the lab and helping patients directly, to give an idea of where I want to go with my college/grad school education.

Everyone has told me to major in what you enjoy studying. People get into med schools with all different majors. I don't know what MD/Ph.D. programs are looking for in students except for top grades/scores & research ability/experience, but public health sounds good to me :-)
I am also pre-med majoring in bio & psychology, because I love both fields. Also, if I don't get into medical school, I will probably pursue a career in psychology.

IDK where you are going to school, but the Public Health program will probably let you get hands-on experience working with people, which is exactly what you want to do in your career!

Good luck!!
