Psych undergrad major at Pitt or Emory

So I got admitted to Emory and Pitt, and need to decide in next week! I think I want to major in pyschology, so I have been looking more closely at each school’s program. Pitt’s web site feels a bit easier to navigate/find stuff out vs Emory’s. I have reached out with some questions to both schools. I think Pitt offers supervised field placement at undergrad level for credit whereas Emory does not - or at least I don’t know for sure. Not sure if that matters a lot or not.

Since I have visited both campuses and like both universities in general (even though they do have some significant differences), I wanted to see if anything about the major would sway me one way or the other… so wondering if anyone who is a psych major in one of these schools has any advice, etc. I’m most interested in understanding how research and internships opportunities may vary between the two (in reality) along with how easy/flexible to double major/study abroad.

I may want to go on to a phd in clinical pysch or md in psychiatry- but these are just options want to explore more in next year or so

Thanks - as I am really torn at this point between the two, see pros and cons related to each.

Ps. And excuse the typos…

I don’t know much of anything about Emory, nor do I know much about life at Pitt, as I am also an aspiring psych major looking to attend
Pitt. I am torn between pitt and penn state at the
moment. (distance is my issue) If distance was not a factor, then I would be going to pitt for sure.
I feel that Pitt offers a great atmosphere for research and internship opportunities right around campus, because it’s in the city. Again, I’m not familiar with Emory’s campus…so I can’t really speak from both perspectives. I just thought I’d reach out and add the information that I know and some of my opinions.
Hope this helps a bit.

P.S.
Also a bit interested to see what responses you get.

Good luck with your college selection

Have you asked the schools if they can put you in touch with faculty and current psychology students?

I did talk to an advisor at Pitt but not at Emory. It was informative, but also looking for other sources of feedback. As I am torn. I do like them both, thou one Div One vs Div Three, one more urban feel thou both near cities. I did try out the Marta in ATL and buses at Pitt as won’t have a car.
