I am currently a psych major at the University of Arizona. However, job prospects for someone holding a bachelor's in psychology seem to be awful, possibly because of the broad nature of the degree and its popularity.

Though I intend to go on to graduate school for psychology, it would be comforting to know that my bachelor's degree won't be worthless in the job market and that I could be employable in a relevant job while pursuing my masters/PhD.

Would a degree in Family Studies and Human Development, a much more focused major still in the same area of psychology, be more helpful when it comes to getting a job after undergrad? And will having a FSHD degree, maybe coupled with a minor in pre-counseling, be a roadblock in graduate admissions as compared to a psychology major? Any advice or insight appreciated. Thank you!
