I’m mostly interested in Psychology but I want to become proficient in Spanish too. I also have an interest in radio or working at a radio station. Is this an ok plan? Should I switch things around? Generally, ignoring my interests, does this look like a doable route?
If you just want to learn Spanish, you don’t have to minor in Spanish. You can just take classes in Spanish. A Spanish minor may require you to take literature and culture classes - which are great ways to better understand the language and tie together your knowledge. But you don’t have to minor.
Similarly…you don’t have to minor in communications, either; you can if you want, but you can take classes in the skills you want and forget the minor.
So it’s really up to you. It also depends on the school you attend, how much overlap there is in the schedule for these classes, etc.
Thank you so much! This is very helpful. I apologize if this question seemed a bit stupid but I am excited to be able to explore new things in college and wasn’t sure how I would be able to do that! Thanks again!
