I’m very interested in studying psychology when I go to school next year. Bucknell is definitely on my list and I was wondering if people could let me know how they like the program there and if its worth paying a ton of money to go there.

I noticed you posted at both Bucknell and Colgate. I have a child at both, (I guess that is why I noticed.)

They are both great schools and very similar. Bucknell is bigger and has more to offer major wise. Colgate is higher ranked on the US News ranking. They both have gorgeous campuses, and both very rural. Both are LAC's and you only take 4 classes a semester. Both are very greek oriented, but it is okay to be an independant. They are both Patriot League athletics.

I can honestly say the students I have encountered at both schools LOVE their school. They are a are nice and respectful group of kids. I have been very impressed.

You can not go wrong with either.

I realize I did not mention psych. My D is considering Psych as a major. She loves her Psych. Prof this semester at Bucknell. But her bro (Colgate"08) and sis (Cornell '10) say psychology is a very comment major and you need to do something to distinguish yourself.

I'm applying ED to Bucknell and am really interested in Psychology, as well. I live in Lewisburg, so I know a lot of people who go to Bucknell and I've really good things about the professors and the program itself from current student and kids from my high school who took intro to psych over the summer.

As for tuition, depending of your family's financial status, Bucknell gives out really good financial aid packages...so, I hope that helps you make a decision.

The Patriot League is a heady group of academic schools.
