Psychology --> Med School or Law School !?!?

How would undergrad Psychology serve a student who might look into law school?

How would undergrad Psychology serve a student who might look into med school? (pediatrics, perhaps)

Thoughts?

It's easy, so good grades. Aside from that it really doesn't help or hurt for med or law school.

It works equally well for both graduate programs. I majored in psych and went to law school; a friend majored in psych and went to medical school. If you are considering medical school, however, just make sure you take all the med school prerequisites.

Thanks for the feeback from both of you.

Here's a stupid question...Where does one find a list of med school pre-reqs?

As both posters have said, you can major in ANYTHING and still attend law/graduate school as long as you complete the prerequisites.

For Law school that is just maintaining a high GPA and taking the LSAT. For medical school, you need to look at the individual medical school admissions page.

A rough list of prereqs though are: Chem 1/2 w/lab, Organic 1/2 w/lab, Physics 1/2, Calculus 1/2, Biology, Microbiology, Genetics

Most schools have their pre-med reqs on their website. Make sure to check both your undergrad school AND the med schools you're considering.

To somewhat echo nshah, the basics that most all schools require are a year of each: biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, calculus, english.
