Psychology or Behavioral Science

I'm working on my 2 year degree at a local community college. Forever I've been saying, "When I transfer, I'm going to major in Psychology". What I want from my B.S. is to be a therapist/counselor and to eventually be independent and work for myself. Now I'm wondering if a BS in Behavioral Science is the way to go, rather than Psychology. Seems like Psychology is a little too vague for what I have in mind?

Thoughts? Ideas? Tips? Thanks!!!

well to be a therapist, you need to have at least a masters degree, either an MSW or masters in counseling. a BS or (BA) won't be enough.
