My child was deferred from early action; does this mean she is out of the running for the PTA (already submitted the application for it)?

Not at all. I have seen several people win the DHS or PTA that originally got deferred. What are her stats?

GPA=4.3 weighted, AP Scholar, all 4s on AP tests so far
ACT=34
varsity athlete 4 years
many clubs but only 1 leadership position
volunteer hours about 200 (I think)

@Tulane1111 - Definitely good that she went for it. She appears to be a strong candidate. She should also keep in touch with her admissions person, continuing to emphasize her interest and point out that she did indeed apply for the PTA.

That is really good to know; thanks so much!

@fallenchemist Do you happen to know how long PT essays generally are?

@TickettoRide

It says right on the application: 250-500 words. You do realize it is due tomorrow.

@fallenchemist Oops, sorry! I should’ve double checked before asking! And yeah, they’re written and I’m just finishing up the final revisions. :)

@TickettoRide

Cool. I hope they were close to the word range. Good luck!!
