Hi! I was wondering, how does UC Irvine compare to San Diego State in terms of the Public Health program? What about UC Berkeley?
Based on the competitiveness of the programs, UCB over UCI over SDSU. I would look at the courses involved in each program to see which would fit your interests best. If you have the Stats, UCB would be program in which I would target but I think the other 2 programs have a very good reputation as well. UCB will possibly open more doors for you depending upon what you intended to do with the major.
Hmm… alrighty then. Being that I transfer to one of those through a Californian community college, which one would be easier for me to transfer into? I would think that UCB is more competitive/prestige, and therefore harder to get into right?
Out of the three, of course UCB is the most competitive and the hardest to get into. Apply to all and see where you get accepted.
In terms of graduate-level public health programs, Berkeley’s is top 10. After that, though, I would say that UCI and SDSU are about equal - SDSU actually has the better known MPH program; it’s top 30ish and well-reputed. UCI of course has the better overall undergraduate reputation, though.
I agree that you should just apply to all of them and see what happens.
