I'm really interested in pursuing either a joint JD/MSW or some form of public interest law. Does anyone know which law schools might offer such programs, or where I might find this information?

Also, I know that UCLA has the David J. Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy. Does anyone know about this program? Is it actually different from a less specialized JD?

Any JD can become “specialized” by the elective courses you take. Look through course catalogs for relevant courses offered, and go to the best one which fits your interests.

I’ve got a law degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and am currently pursuing an MSW at the University of Pittsburgh. U of Pitt has a joint JD/MSW program. However, frankly, I have to say that if you want to do public interest law you can probably do just as well with only a law degree. Simply tailor your courses towards the areas you are interested in.

I believe UPenn has a joint JD/MSW program. There may be other law schools that have similar programs- but UPenn came to mind. This joint degree program may be geared for those who already have a BSW as per Penn website.
