Hi. I'm having trouble finding some more schools where I could get substantial merit aid (like full tuition or full ride). I'm not sure if I should be looking more towards public or private schools. I retook the SAT and got 1410 (cr+m) or 1430 superscore and I have a 3.97 uw gpa. I have looked at the popular threads at the top of the page but was hoping for some more ideas. I am interested in nursing. I'm open to any suggestions in any state if they could offer good merit aid.

Read in this thread. There is a thread about full tuition and full ride scholarships that has a link to updated info.

Look at University of Alabama. I believe you would get a decent merit award there with your stats.

Publics often don’t have money for merit scholarships, especially for non-residents, though there are some exceptions in those lists.

Alabama has excellent nursing and would give you free tuition.
Bama nursing students have a near perfect pass-rate on the national licensing exam.

It can be harder to get free tuition at privates. Some give half-tuition awards, but to get a full tuition awards, it can be more difficult.

How much will your family pay each year?

Merit is usually based on single sittings…not super scores.

PSAT can also get you full-tuition scholarships if you score high enough to be NMS.
