Public Policy/PoliSci

Hi everyone! Hopefully someone can help me out here. I'm having some serious issues right now worrying about my future....

I'm starting at Michigan next year, and looking at a PoliSci degree, or PubPol if I get accepted to the program. What are common career paths for such majors? I'm not interested in law school, and would love to work for a politician or the government. Should I double major with something else? And what are job prospects? What's the path after graduation? After researching for a bit, it seems that most MPP or MPA programs (which I BELIEVE would be what I want) require or want job experience. Is it difficult to get a job with just a bachelor's?

Thank you for your time! Hopefully you can help me feel a little better.
