<p>With all of the financial woes in Cali, especially in the education sector, I'd be curious to hear what some of you think about the possibility of schools like Cal and UCLA becoming private? Is this idea plausible, or has it ever been seriously discussed?</p>

<p>I remember there was some proposal by the UC higher-ups about not requiring public approval for measures, which means UC’s would become much closer to becoming private schools.</p>

<p>Going private might not be a bad thing. I go to USC for free tuition and most of my living expenses paid.</p>
