University of Puget Sound EA decisions come out “by mid-January.” Does anyone know when they were released last year? Does anyone have any more specific insight for this year? Thanks!
no idea - but just wanted to thank you for posting as I was coming on to look for the same thing. We’ve received responses & offers from all my dd’s other EA schools - but silence from UPS.
I do wonder if what seems like a delay is due to the change that they are making this year regarding their commitment to cover all demonstrated needs for ED applicants. They might be more conservative. Just a thought.
Interesting. I didn’t know that. Thanks. Keeping our fingers crossed for some decent merit. UPS is one of my DD’s top choices. We are from the Midwest.
My understanding is they are pretty good with merit - we are relatively local, so it’s not as high on my dd’s list, but I think its a pretty great school. Seems to be of a sleeper to local families & pulls a bit more out of state folks than Seattle/Tacoma area. Good luck to your daughter.
I asked on Instagram, and they said “mid to late Jan” although the website indicated Jan 15th…so that wasn’t terribly useful as an answer.
another interesting thing the website said was that ED students need to enroll by 1/15 - which is interesting, and might mean they are waiting to see how many accept (and therefore UPS agrees to cover need) before they announce the next round of acceptances.
Following…
My kid got email 1/17 is notification date
My son was admitted EA today - communication studies major.
My son got a text today (Jan 17) with a link about his EA application. He was accepted and is pleased as UPS was his top choice!
My daughter also got accepted today with generous merit! We will see where she ends up.
My DD was accepted too with generous merit! So excited! It is one of her top choices! Now we need to plan a West Coast trip to visit!
Daughter admitted today. 28k merit.
My DS was admitted EA yesterday with $30K scholarship ($29K President’s Scholarship + $1K visit). He attended a class when we visited, but otherwise haven’t shown much interest. He has strong ECs and relatively high stats (3.96UW, 4.6W, 1490 SAT).
Is there an additional $1k/year offered if you visit? I haven’t read that anywhere. We plan to visit.
We’re full pay (and don’t file FAFSA), so normally, when I open the Financial Aid Awards at schools, we just see the awarded merit. My son’s UPS financial aid award letter showed the merit scholarship (President level $29K/yr) that was mentioned in his award letter and also showed $1k/yr listed as a “visit award.” Not sure if that $1K will renew all four years and it was a surprised to us.
