I'm a Junior in high school. I have taken either all honors or AP classes during high school. I have a 4.3 weighted GPA and received a 26 on the ACT (I plan on retaking it to get a higher score). I have a decent list of extra-curriculars like work experience, being an eagle scout, and being a part of the NHS. I'm also Hispanic if that counts for anything.

So I'm looking to go into computer science or something of that nature. Which of these 3 universities (Purdue, DePaul, or IIT) has the best program? And if there are any universities I'm missing that i should consider that are in the Midwest please let me know.

There’s usually not much to distinguish undergraduate CS programs from each other, and all three schools are fine.

Years ago IIT was one of the top schools to go to if you were interested in computer graphics, but I haven’t been paying attention and don’t know if that’s still the case.

They’re all solid engineering schools. Are you an Indiana resident?

The most important thing is affordability. If you are OK with any one of the schools, then see what kind of financial aid package you get and try to go to the school which minimizes your debt at the end. You have to be aware though that IIT is a smaller school than either of the other two so if the size of the student body is an important consideration, then keep it in mind.

I live in Illinois. Affordability is going to be a big factor.

Have you checked the net price calculators at each school?

DePaul, IIT, Purdue in that order - provided the financial awards are favorable as-well.
Best of Luck to you.

Ucbalumnus I haven’t yet. I will try them once I get my parent’s financial info.

Why don’t you give UIUC a whirl? It’d be in-state for you. It’s probably the top, public in-state college for computer science in Illinois.

Purdue’s tuition for in-state residents is shockingly cheap (isn’t it sad when one considers $10,000/year to be cheap?).

You may also want to check out the other state schools in Illinois as financial safeties. UIC, NIU, SIU, and ISU all offer computer science degree.
