Purdue - letters of recommendation

I see on Purdue website that letters of recommendation are not required. Can anyone let me know if students are able to submit them optionally ?

The Common App is current closed to get ready for the 21-22 cycle, but my notes say 0 required, 1 optional for teachers, and 1 optional other.

I also believe recommendations are recommended for honors college.

My daughter is a freshman and was able to submit one teacher and one other via the common app. On our tour, I believe they said they would accept any by mail or email as well. She is in FYE, applied early action and did submit test scores last year. OOS
