Hi all,

My first semester in college I thought I wanted to major in neuroscience (with a pre-med track) as well as English. Well, I was very, very wrong about the neuroscience, and am now, happily, an English major. The weed-out chemistry and psych classes I took killed my GPA, but in my English classes I am doing fine, and my professors have told me I will make a good English major. Is major GPA as big a factor as I hope, or will my somewhat suffering overall GPA discourage grad schools when they see my application? Also, how can I effectively spend my summers?

I go to a reputable university, so I'm hoping to attend a graduate school of a comparable level.

Thanks
