Putting self-doubt or flaws in the essay?

I wrote a great essay, and I included some things I feel bad about in it. Such as being short or having a weird hairline. I wanted to include my physical features in the essay and show emotion. They really play themselves well into the essay, too. Is this a bad idea? I mean, I show confidence in the essay, but I wanted to show a diverse me. And it's a very minor part of the essay. Any thoughts?

If you were talking about flaws like being lazy, dishonest or hating to study, then I’d say don’t include them. However, I don’t think that mentioning kind of flaws you’re mentioning would hurt your chances of getting into college.

There is actually a pretty famous application essay that talks about the writer’s insecurities about his height. In the conclusion the writer asserts, that while he may be a short man, his achievements make him feel taller than everyone around him. He got into Harvard with that essay.

^The title is ‘Growing Up’. The author’s height is 5’6-7’'.

Nah, on the essay he says he’s 5’5. And on topic, as long as you don’t write about anything that Northstarmom mentioned, it could turn out to be an awesome essay,

Okay, cool. Thanks: )
