Putting Sports on application

Is it bad to put a sport that I have only done for two years of high school on my applications? I did volleyball and track freshman and sophomore year, and then competitive weightlifting sophomore and junior year. I’m just not sure if I should include volleyball and track. I’m definitely including weightlifting because I’m very passionate about it, and I will be doing it

I did tennis for one year and I put it on my app. I don’t think it hurt me at all

Of course you should list them. You spent significant time doing those sports. Put it this way…if you don’t list them, don’t you think they might wonder what you did with your time?

Yes, include them. Think about what they represent in your personal narrative. If it’s meaningful, mention it in your app.

Are you willing to try new things? Do you get involved in activities to connect with others? Did either of the sports you dropped point you toward your current passion, and if so, how did that happen? It’s part of who you are and as mentioned, you put time into it.

I would include them as it shows you were involved and active during your first two years of HS. It is perfectly fine to replace those sports with a newly found interest – in fact that type of growth/development is part of what HS should be about.
