SO CHANCE MEE.

simple fact is that you have a very good chance at either of these schools but because of your income apply to an in state school so it could be more affordable plus they can double as your safetys. chance me back http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1033113-chance-me-ill-chance-you-back.html

You have quite a good chance to get in at both taking your race into account. But apart from that, your academic performance is great and your EC’s are decent. The thing about your EC’s is that they really don’t reflect your interest in engineering. Maybe it was because of the limited opportunities at school?

Totally. I know from the lack of engineer-esque ec’s it’s hard to believe that I want to be an engineer.I’ve done (small) in school engineering projects and I love my math and physics classes. So I’m pretty sure engineering is the right direction for me.

My school does not have any robot teams or USAMO or AIME or all of those programs.

My only math/science EC is math honor society, which is sort of like a club. Since I am an officer, I help to plan some really fun events for the school like PIE DAY and we’re starting and E day this year. The society also sponsors math team competitions (we compete against people in our county) but our team isn’t great and doesn’t really go anywhere.

BUT. I love to run. Love love love love it. I mean sure, I could have donated those 25 hours a week to something more strategic and/or impressive looking like searching for places where I could do high-school research. But running is fun, I enjoy it, I love it. Although I don’t want to be an Olympian, I don’t regret doing it in high school.

So my ec’s are probably a weakness. I put a lot of effort into them though and they are very meaningful to me. If admins don’t like it then oh well haha.

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK :)

That’s great :)

As long as you’re taking advantage of the opportunities presented to you and you are doing things that you like, I have no criticism.

Keep going!
