does legacy help at all for UCLA?
there was no where on the app where you could state if your parent was an alum

No, legacies mostly apply to only private schools like Stanford.

Even at most private schools it is questionable how much being a legacy helps. At UCLA it's not going to help at all.

UCLA doesn't consider legacy for admissions. Besides the fact that it's a public university, one in 140 Californians has a UCLA degree. There's bound to be tons of legacy applicants already competing for spots...

ahh well that sucks...my chances are already slim seeing im not only out of state, but also international

S ('05) had a HS classmate whose parents both attended UCLA and was rejected by UCLA. The number of applicants (40,000+) doesn't allow the individualized attention that searching for legacies requires.

Good luck! You could still get in.

Don't despair -- for UCLA admissions purposes, international applicants are grouped together with domestic U.S. out-of-state applicants, so your chances aren't any worse than a typical out-of-state applicant.
