I am confused b/c I've heard if you send in an SAT score, the college will get all of them...so if I had my 1st score sent to the 4 colleges for free and am now taking the test again, should I pick 4 different schools b/c the old 4 will automatically get these again? I'm confused how it works. Also, how does the ACT work and sat subject tests...

No, each time you send scores, you will have to specify the colleges.

Say the first time, you took the SATI and you sent scores to colleges A, B, C, and D. The second time, you took the SATII and you send to Colleges E, F, and G.

Colleges E, F, and G will receive your SATII and SATI.
A, B, C, and D will only have the SATI though.

ACT is administered through a different organization. To my knowledge, with the ACT you can specify which tests to send, and which ones to "keep back." Some schools will accept the ACT+Writing instead of SATI+SATII, while others will want ACT+SATII.

(SATII = Subject tests)

so if i want to send my second try on the SAT I i can still send it to the same 4 schools i did the last time....but they will get both those scores and the old ones?

(I get what you said about satIIs but wanna also know about sending in a different satI)

Yes, your score report will have all of your SATI and SATII scores. You'll just have to specify the schools again.
