Q for current students

“ould anyone PLEASEE give me any info on EGL? I want to know everything about it, but specifically, how difficult it is to fulfill the credit requirements, and how much it helps in finding a good job after you graduate.”

Getting a 3.6 in engineering (especially CS) is hard. It’s about top 6% GPA wise for Engineering.

I’ve not been in any interviews, but looking at job postings, it looks like being in EGL really isn’t that useful (since I have seen no mention in it in the hundreds of job postings I’ve seen). Maybe something nice to talk about, but the GPA is what’s important, not being in EGL or not. Again, just speculation.

And if you can get a 3.6 in engineering, you can probably handle whatever increased credit load you’d need to take on.

Thank you bear cats, before your post i never knew the importance of identifying the fish knife, now im sure that when i go to a job interview and am quizzed on table settings ill definately pass and get the job.

So if we’re eating at a Szechuan restaurant and you hold your chopstick or bowl the Cantonese way, it’s acceptable for people to guffaw at you?

there aren’t that many ways of holding a pair of chopsticks or a bowl, you know? HAHA  but, yes, i agree with your point.
