[Q] Would taking AP Lit make a difference in College Admissions?

Hey,

So I am currently a junior, and I plan to go into med, hopefully the 7year way, or the 4/4 year way. The question is whether or not AP Lit is going to make a difference when I apply to colleges or programs. I have taken 5 APs so far, and plan to take 5 more next year.

Soph: AP World History
Junior: AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, AP Lang, AP US History

I plan to take
AP Stat, AP Micro, AP Macro, AP Comp Sci, AP Chem, and possibly AP Physics B

My avg GPA is 3.68 (because of freshman and early soph year), and my Jan SAT is 2120.

My objection to AP Lit is just the work; I feel that I would be too lazy to do it on top of all the science and math APs. I get a B+ from AP Lang for the same reason.

tldr: Is AP Lit worth taking for someone going onto med?

Haven’t you already answered your own question?

For very selective colleges (am I right in assuming that you’re planning to apply to such?) it is very much about passion, excellence, commitment, engagement and results. And indeed it’s not much different in college. Clearly AP Lit at your school is an optional class. Surely there is some other course that will engage you.
