Q3 Advisors

Sorry about the posts but everything came up thanksgiving-tried to let things ride for the first quarter and see how things went.

Sounds like advising is done in groups? Is that correct? He said he does not actually have one specific advisor who helps him in his pre-major
thanks

If you’re talking about the entire A&O session, then yes, it is done in groups. However, advising itself is 1:1 (everyone gets scheduled to a different time slot—if within the same time frame, then they’ll all get different general advisors).

*simply put, orientation is done in groups and meeting with an advisor to plan for future quarters is done 1:1.

He will not have one specific advisor until he declares his major (randomly assigned each time I think). Once he gets admitted to a major department, he will get to choose an advisor each time he signs up for advising (same advisor or not = all up to him).
