QB 2019 Application - Do I have any chances of getting accepted?

Hello!
I just wanted to get advice from anyone who is reading this. My dream is to attend a selective institution, but I wanted to know if they accept me. Do I have a chance? Please be honest and I highly appreciate any input. Here are my stats
A.) Background: 1st generation Latina student from a single mother in Texas. Was in middle school in a foreign country for family reasons, but came back for high school. Education in that country isn’t as advanced as it is in the U.S and is what made me lose track in my academics.
1.) Income: Less than $22,000 a year, no ownership of home or property
2.) GPA: 4.2
3.) Class Rank: 16% (97/611 students) Our school is a large, public, urban high school and its highly competitive. A lot of smart people are there.
4.) SAT: 1100 (Will retake again, so hopefully, I’ll raise score by at least 200 points)
5.) ACT: Horrifying score - 22 pls help!! :frowning:
6.) Coursework: Dual Enrollment courses with a community college, took four AP courses and has mostly done Honors/ Pre-AP courses.
7) AP Scores: AP Human Geography (3); AP Spanish Language (5); AP World History (4) and AP English Language (3)
8.) Extracurriculars: Because of our financial hardship, I’m not very involved in school, but have two jobs and I’m only doing what I’m highly passionate about.

  • Advanced Women’s Chorus/ Varsity Choir: Have been a Soprano II for 2 full years since Sophomore year and will be there in senior year to compete in UIL. Won award for 1st Place: Concert Performance at UIL Competition/ April 2019.
  • Choir Council: Was a Secretary since 2017, and will become Vice President for 2019-2020 and qualified for a graduation chord and received an award for “Most Devoted Officer of the Council” twice in a row.
  • sprout: I recently founded a club to support students in their journey to college. I believe in the empowerment of students through higher education and am passionate about providing students with accessibility to education. It focuses on granting students with college readiness resources and special counseling that our college center can’t guarantee.
  • Pharmacy Practicum/ Health Science Pathway: Is a special program for seniors captivated by the Medical Professions that will grant students the opportunity to train in the Pharmacy Department of either a hospital or a retail store. Like an internship, but will get certified as a Pharmacy Technician and paid along the way. Out of the 60 applicants, they selected only 11, including myself.
  1. Work Experience: Customer service jobs right after freshman year. Is a Shift Leader at an ice cream place and a server at an Italian restaurant. I remained with both for more than a year.

Any help or advice is genuinely appreciated!!!

Look at the typical profile for a QB finalist (they post a table on their website). Your stats are somewhat low compared to QB finalists, but we’re not talking about a huge chasm, especially if you do better on your SAT. Nonetheless, they are low, which will hurt your chances. On the other hand, the only way in which you have 0% chance of getting a QB scholarship is not to apply for one, you should definitely apply. You should remember, though, that only about 6% of QB applicants actually get full tuition scholarships for their matched institutions, so it is a long shot at best.
