I’ve seen the notion around here before that Questbridge kids are put into another pile during the QB regular decision admissions process.
Does anyone know if they are sorted geographically (or by high school), or is it just one big pile of QB kids all lumped together?
I was wondering about this since there are a lot of wealthy kids at my (competitive) public school that are applying to the same (QB partner) schools as I am :-S
thanks
At many schools, admission officers are assigned regions (Middle Atlantic, New England) so applications are sorted geographically. My son’s acceptance came from the regional admissions officer from his school, so there was probably no separate QB pile.
However my son heard from an Admissions Office intern that the first thing the admissions officer at his school says to the panel of three who decide whether to admit is “I have a QuestBridge applicant here.” ( He also learned that ALL 3 have to vote to admit, so there’s that).
